Gatecrasher’s launch party ‘Let’s Play Dirty’ promised ‘filthy boys’ and ‘sexy girls.’ Obviously these qualities are speculative but with vodka mixers at 99p one becomes far more inclined to agree. The four floors and multiple bars demonstrated excellent usage of the £30 million re-vamp budget with modern decor, provocative symbols and colourful, seductive lighting bringing Gatecrasher stylishly to the forefront of Nottingham’s clubbing scene. The dance floor heaved with students and in his state of excitement the DJ only managed to hold out until 11.30 for his SCLUB7 fix. Drum and Bassists performed the transition from ‘reaching for the stars’ to moshing to Pendulum admirably, remembrance of the former immortalized in the photos taken for Heat magazine throughout the evening.
