On the song Love Comes Close Philadelphia synthesizers Cold Cave produce a soothing release of energy, with up tempo drum beats and jangly guitars layering the tone in a simplistic and euphoric way. Then the vocals kick in and the sound of the 80’s comes flooding through nostalgically, but with a difference. Not since Crystal Stilts earlier this year have a band captured an era’s sound and made it their own so very powerfully.

Cold Cave have released an album called Love Come Close and are playing at the Bodega on the 2nd November. To hear more go to their myspace.
