Take part in our ‘Summer’ Photography Competition

Impact is running its first ever photography competition, so get your pricey cameras out and start clicking away. You do not have to meet any specific requirements to take part, but the ability to handle a camera will ostensibly come in handy!

What is this competition about?

The theme is simple: “What does summer mean to you?” Whether it’s a glittering seascape, incriminating snapshots of your cousin’s 21st birthday party, or a Kodak moment of your sunburned grandmother biting into a leaky egg sandwich — any entries are welcome as long as they are related to your personal experience, or perception, of summer. The word ‘summer’ can become awfully stretchy when we get down to metaphors, which is why we advise all entrants to submit a short explanation of their photograph as well.

How do I enter?

Just send your photograph to our Images Team at images@impactnottingham.com. The deadline is the 15th September 2011.

Multiple entries are welcome, but no more than 5 pictures from the same entrant will be considered. We suggest that you submit only your best pictures. The winners and the runners-up will be displayed on this website, when we officially unveil our online gallery for the first time. Any particularly exceptional entries might also be published in a future issue of our magazine.

And lastly: any obscene/excessively gory/plagiarised entries will inevitably lead to a disqualification  — needless to say, it’s not worth it, so don’t even try!

Happy picture-taking and good luck!
