On Friday voting for Nottingham’s Students’ Union Elections opened.
Impact spoke to Tom van Wesseldine, who is running for SU President, to see how he felt things were going.
“Campaigning has gone really well so far” says Tom, who set up his base outside of Portland on Friday morning, enticing voters in with free sweets.
He believes what makes him distinctive from other candidates is that “he doesn’t need this for his CV” and he wants to “help the University”.
We also spoke to fellow presidential candidate Will Clempner’s campaigning team.
They said that “this is the week that counts” and that all the positions have strong candidates running for them.
According to the team, Will wants to make “deep change” within the SU and will “give 100% to the role”.
Clempner’s team and other candidates were based around Hallward Library.
