Jasmine Chow has been announced as the International Officer for 2013/14.

A total of 1,521 votes were cast and on the initial round of counting, Jasmine recieved 605 votes, Usman Saleem received 427 votes, Alexandra Irina Pinzariu received 242 votes, Hadiza M. Marwa  received 174 votes and RON a mere 34 votes.

On the second round of counting, Usman received 540 votes and Jasmine received 682.
Chow was unable to attend the Results Night event.

Current International Officer Iman Gaehwiler said, “I’m sure she’ll do a great job.”

Iman felt that changing the rules this year made campaigning better, “We reached out to all the candidates this year.”

Commenting on reaching the target of 10,000 votes, Iman said that she was “really pleased.”

    I wanted Usman to win, he has so much more experience and had a better manifesto.

    Jasmine didn’t even have a campaign, and only won because she is Chinese, and a large proportion of international students are Chinese.
