Detailing a tragedy occurring within the ranks of the Foxcatcher wrestling team during the mid-90s, the film follows two Olympic Champions (Mark Ruffalo and Channing Tatum) and their mentally unstable coach (Steve Carell).

The only promotion has come in the form of one intriguing teaser trailer, and what a trailer it was. Director Bennett Miller’s experiences on Capote and Moneyball seems to have created a fantastic atmosphere and both Ruffalo and Tatum look like they’re bringing their A-game to this fascinating story.

But the real draw is Carell; sporting a good deal of prosthetics, raising the pitch of his voice and behaving very erratically indeed, he is utterly unrecognisable. It’s his first truly dramatic role and he looks absolutely stellar. A shocking tale, able direction and transformative performances make this one to look out for.
