Trailer Watch – The Voices

The first trailer for dark comedy The Voices has just been released on the web, and it’s a little crazy. If a talking cat, dog and disembodied head weren’t wacky enough, then the fact that Ryan Reynolds might actually be in a good film is surely entering into the realm of insanity.

Reynolds is one of those Hollywood actors that always provides a solid, usually funny performance, just with the misfortune of being in really bad movies. In The Voices, Reynolds plays the likeable mentally ill Jerry Hickfang, who begins experiencing hallucinations after ceasing to take his anti-psychotic medication. Directed by author Marjane Satrapi, this film looks to be Reynolds’ first good movie in a long time.

Jerry descends into becoming a serial killer after his beloved cat and dog talk him into killing Fiona (Gemma Arterton). What follows appears to be an incredibly dark-humoured plot where Jerry must hide his sinister, murderous self from his co-workers.

See if The Voices is as offbeat and enthralling as its trailer when it’s released on March 20th.
