The most fabulous night of the year saw style-savvy students step out for a night of cocktails, charitable cheer and high fashion. Were you spotted?
Last week saw UoN’s own Fashion Society and Her Campus Nottingham take over Coco Tang, proving yet again girls really do rule the world. The wood-panelled, dimly lit bar was transformed into an underground catwalk, drinks were discounted, and girls dressed as a pair of boobs walked free – we had a good feeling about the night already. And we weren’t disappointed. The star event of the charity night was a military-chic inspired fashion show featuring the likes of Boohoo and ASOS where student models strutted to empowering tunes from Beyonce (we resisted the growing urge to climb up on stage for Formation, but only just). Next, a charity raffle where all the proceeds, like those of the tickets, went towards Coppafeel! – a breast cancer charity with a difference, rounded up by the sassiest belly dancing we’d ever seen. This was a night for women by women, with a heart-warming case at its heart and honestly, it was fabulous. In the midst of buying raffle tickets, enjoying belly dancing and sipping on Toblerone cocktails we spotted some seriously stylish makeup looks and outfits from the ladies who attended the sell-out show. We caught up with them to talk style secrets and ask about their night so far:
