Since the overly harsh critical slaughtering of Batman V Superman, Warner Bros. decided to crank it up to 10 with this year’s San Diego Comic Con Justice League footage. The White Stripes bring in Batman and Aquaman in a macho-man face off of drastically unfair proportions.
This footage is a gift to the fans – considering at this time they have only been filming for 3 weeks, this is Christmas come early. BvS brought us the holy trinity of Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman and this trailer fills in the rest of DC’s answer to The Avengers with Aquaman, The Flash and Cyborg.
Aquaman, portrayed by Game of Thrones’s Jason Momoa, is bringing a fresh take on the often ridiculed aquatic hero with a built and powerful islander brute, the new muscles of the ohana whilst Superman is ‘dead’. We also get our first look at Ezra Miller’s Scarlet Speedster since the cameos of BvS that were fuel to the critics’ fiery rage. Ray Fisher is the new Cyborg and sports an impressive CGI suit with very little to say or do in this footage, so more to come can be expected for the alien-fused human computer.
Wonder Woman and Batman get some airtime too but this footage is truly the first stop on the hype train’s journey to November 2017 when the Justice League is assembled.
