WINNER ANNOUNCED – POSTGRADUATE OFFICER – Yolanda King

Yolanda King has been announced as your new SU Postgraduate Officer after three years of running in the SU Elections.

The total number of people who voted for this position was 4,117. Yolanda King won after 1 round of voting, beating Paige Roden by 1,406 votes in the first round of voting.

“I didn’t stop, even this morning I was at the gates at 8 o’clock”

When asked how it felt to win in her third year of running to be a officer in the Students’ Union, Yolanda King told Impact it was “unbelievable”.

“The team worked so hard for it. Every year. They were so quietly confident but I didn’t want to stop. Even this morning I was at the gates at 8 o’clock,” she said.

She added: “I learned so much over three years and it definitely has shown this year because the campaign was so strong and it just came together”.

Yolanda King thanked everyone that approached her during the campaign, as well as her team, stating she “wouldn’t have run without them”.

She is planning to celebrate her win in Ink or Ocean tonight.
