The Best and The Worst: Celebrity Style 13-20/10/2014

Impact Style takes a look at the best and worst celebrity fashion had to offer this week.

This Week’s Best Dressed Celebrity: Lily Collins

Lily Collins looked like a fairylike at the Rome Film Festival this week in a gorgeous Elie Saab Couture gown. Despite wearing no accessories, Lily rocked an immaculate old-hollywood style curled bob and autumnal burgundy lips, looking effortlessly enchanting. The dress reminds us of a beautiful budding rose, very fitting, of course, as she was attending the Love, Rosie premiere.

 Miranda Kerr

The triangle cut out is everywhere this season and with good reason if Miranda Kerr’s outfit is anything to go by. She looks sexy yet sophisticated in her all white and cream two parter. Topped with shiny ombre hair, hot pink lipstick and kitten heels, she was definitely the best dressed at the Wonderbra event in South Korea this week.

Blake Lively

Blake

Blake Lively’s baby bump debut could not have been any more stylish in this shimmering Michael Kors gown. The Mum-to-be looks as stunning as ever and demonstrates that nothing is as beautiful as that infamous pregancy glow (and her trademark smoky eyes, tousled hair, and a set of gorgeous rings hasn’t hurt either). We congratulate the happy couple!

Beyoncé

Beyonce

This one is not so much about the outfit, although Beyonce looks fashionable as always in a print tube skirt and a acid washed cropped top, but  it’s about the haircut: Beyonce got bangs! And she knows how to show them off, accessorizing with big sunglasses and an even bigger smile. A new haircut is definitely the way to kick start your winter and escape the dreariness that arrives as soon as the last summer sun rays leave.

Poppy Delevingne

The Delevingnes have long ago proven that they might just be the best dressed family out there. Forget the Kardashians, when it comes to girl power the Delevingne girls are definitely ahead of the game and they do it with a lot less drama and fashion fails. Cara’s older sister Poppy proved just that at the Chanel No 5 dinner this week in – what else but – Chanel. Her bohemian maxi-dress is lifted out of Glastonbury and into elegance by the iconic double C logo and a stunning cobalt purse.

This Week’s Worst Dressed Celebrity: January Jones

january

Where to start with this one? January Jones somehow manages to pack all of this and next season’s trends into one dress and ends up proving that more is not always better. An offensively bright hot pink hue paired with leather details, metallic shimmer, floral motifs AND asymmetry… The only favour January does the look is to keep everything else fairly simple with a clean makeup look and simple black strap sandals.

Naomi Campbell

naomi

We have seen many fashion ups and downs from Naomi Campbell: although we appreciate her effort to match the theme of the Attitude Awards by wearing something dramatic, this beaded Roberto Cavalli gown and fur stole says “angry crow” and  not elegance. Her mismatched bracelets and pink nail varnish on her toes just add to this fashion confusion.

Chloë Moretz

chloe

While we are usually a fan of anything Donna Karan had to do with, this pencil skirt worn by Chloë Moretz looks like something a child made in nursery with the scraps of material. Unfortunately, the on-trend cropped top doesn’t seem to fit properly and is just that tad too shiny for our liking. However, Chloë saves her outfit with a classic pair of Louboutins on her feet.

Keri Hilson

keri

We always like to see Keri Hilson on the red carpet although this time we may have seen a bit too much… This colour block gown at the Living Legends Foundation’s celebration in Hollywood doesn’t do her any favours in terms of colour and cut. The only thing stylish about this is her dazzling smile and popping pink lips. It just about makes us forget the rest of the outfit.

Lea Michele

Another starlet who showed just a bit too much skin this week is Lea Michele in this Cushie et Ochs velvet gown at the American Horror Story: Freak Show premiere. Whilst Kendall is a classic example of how high slits can still look classy, Lea and us other mortals should stick to the golden rule that one high/low slit is enough for one dress. Overall it just looks a bit like an ill fitted bathing suit with a towel wrapped around her waist. We’re still excited for the new AHS season though!
