RATE YOUR PLATE @ THE BEAN

Are you on the lookout for a new revision break location, a library alternative or perhaps a spot of celebratory coffee and cake? As Susan reveals, the answer is just on your doorstep…

Opposite Sainsbury’s in Beeston lies a charming little café. The Bean was named one of the UK’s top 50 espresso bars by  The Independent and it’s clear why; the strong espresso aroma hits you as soon as you walk in! Chic and rustic vibes aside, this is a café that prides itself in both its hand crafted coffees and freshly brewed teas. You’ll find all the classics on the coffee menu: cappuccinos, mochas and lattes and, depending on the whims of its baristas, a few quirky oddities! Whether you’re studying, catching up with friends or simply enjoying a moment of stillness away from the bustle of campus, a coffee, tea or hot chocolate will only set you back by around £2.50. Impact Food recommends an Iron Goddess of Mercy herbal tea. It’s light, zesty and subtle sweetness pairs perfectly with any selection from the array of just-baked cakes.
